tour an art-spired condo
Designer Roman Gutyrya behind MUZE wall design pours art and love into his most passionate design project yet: his own home.
MUZE’s vision of an artful interior is one that reveals the inhabitant’s passion, interest, and fond memories--expressing his/her self discovery journey and open-mindedness, it goes beyond the material possessions of a pricey furniture or the superficiality of “just a beautiful space”.
It’s about the joy of life.
Art is under “utilized” as an interior decor element. We often read about design features leveraging furnishings or colour schemes, but rarely do we hear about incorporating art into a home’s design ethos.
Our home should leverage art as a visual language to say something about ourselves at a time having a voice is more important than ever.
The entry hall is decorated with a wall art inspired by a pre-quarantine trip to the Eternal City, elevating an otherwise unremarkable hallway to a focal point of the home. Coupled with the charcoal ceiling, the larger than life mural transforms the living experience and takes you back to a fond memory each time you lay eyes on it.
In a time we can no longer travel like before, bringing a piece of travel memory and transforming it into a piece of art you get to enjoy and experience on a daily basis is incredibly rewarding.
An abstract wall sculpture hangs above the low slung Lawndale sofa from CB2 in the living room. Here we played with scale to engage the entire expanse of the wall to create a strong visual impact while staying true to the minimalism aesthetic of the space.
A custom designed grid pattern perfectly wraps the dining room wall, creating an ambience unique to the dining area. A minimalistic gold pendent hangs directly above the centre of the round dining table, balancing the room with exacting proportions
