She's a successful business woman and he is an analyst-turned-aspiring-artist. Her style preferences lie with here-and-now. His style can be described as eclectic. She opts for tried-and-true while he likes to experiment. She is a minimalist, and he gets a kick out of displaying his bric-à-brac. She is an urbanite and he is drawn to nature. They both like traveling, good food, art and an interesting conversation. They describe an ideal home as stylish, cozy, and effortlessly chic. They invited us to see how we can transform their new penthouse condo in Kitsilano into a warm & comfortable home that expresses their personality, fits their lifestyle and enhances their living (expressing who they are,  where they can rest, work & entertain guests)

Sounds like an easy project to tackle, right?

Having chatted at depth with the couple over several cups of tea about what makes them tick and how they view their ideal home, we've put together a project proposal and presented it in the follow up meeting. It revolved around the concept of Parisian chic represented by timeless greys and trendy paneling epitomized in the famous parisian Dior storefront.

This project called for the entire spectrum of our services.

First, we repaired and painted all surfaces to ensure they are in tip-top shape and to depart from the old look & feel. Then, we treated walls with the wall designs the couple selected to make the condo unmistakably and enjoyably theirs.

We delivered a decorative solutions to make both homeowners happy. Here is what we did.

Colour palette first! to set the mood. Use of colour accents. Hightling the features of space - crownmoulding, streamlined doors, skylight. Complement the flooring. Enhance the fire place. Expand the room. Make windows blend in with the wall. Conceal the window sills,

The foyer features two Wall Décor designs: wall framing and custom stencilling. Both designs, the oversized zebra pattern and the grey colour fields framed in black boarder, are bold statements befitting the function of the room and setting the tone for what's to come. The message here is you know you've "arrived" at a special place

For the bedroom, we created simple white-on-grey faux paneling & wainscotting design inspired by the famous Parisian storefront of Christian Diór. This monochromatic palette of vintage pewterriver reflections, and Chantilly lace imbues the space with certain neutrality and understated elegance. It is a comfortable space for resting or lounging. To make the room feel and look more spacious, the darker shade is sandwiched between the light grey of the ceiling and the mid grey of the wainscotting. Supported by the visual flow resulting from painted doors as a method to remove visual distractions, the dark shade appears to recede into the distance creating a distant backdrop and sense of deep space.

The living room is coated with exciting stripes in sun porch and vintage pewter borrowed from the bedroom—the space lights up beautifully throughout the day since the living room faces west and receives ample natural light. The gallery wall
